Porcelain Veneers

The cornerstone of some of the most transformative smile makeovers, porcelain veneers are crafted to cover the front surfaces of teeth that are chipped, discolored, misshapen, or otherwise aesthetically flawed. Your veneers will be customized to complement the size, shape, color, and texture of surrounding natural teeth, according to precise specifications provided by Dr. Berger. With proper maintenance, your beautifully restored smile will last for years.

Porcelain restorations are, by far, the most realistic looking of all restorations. This is because porcelain, like natural tooth enamel, is translucent; this means that it allows some light to pass through its surface rather than reflecting it. The micro-thin veneers are both durable and highly stain resistant, and can even be used as a sort of “instant orthodontics,” making teeth of uneven lengths more uniform.

Zoom!® Teeth Whitening

Cosmetic Dentistry
Zoom!® Teeth WhiteningOne of the most popular cosmetic dentistry treatments available at our Pompano Beach and Fort Lauderdale area practice, the Zoom!® in-office teeth whitening system can lighten teeth by up to ten shades in just about an hour. The bleaching properties of the Zoom!® whitening gel are activated upon exposure to the proprietary Zoom!® light. Even the most stubborn stains, such as those left by coffee, tea, tobacco, wine, soda, and certain medications, can be dramatically lightened, while many can be eliminated altogether. You will leave our office with a vibrant, rejuvenated smile that can last for years. Treatment can be repeated as necessary.

If you prefer to achieve similarly impressive whitening results in the privacy of your own home, please ask Dr. Berger about our take-home whitening options.

ClearCorrect™ Invisible Braces

clear_correct_logoClearCorrect™ Invisible BracesThe ClearCorrect™ system represents a breakthrough in orthodontic technology. Using a series of custom-made, virtually invisible aligners, the ClearCorrect™ system gently guides teeth toward their proper position in the mouth, doing the work of traditional braces without the need for cumbersome and conspicuous metal. At the beginning of treatment, Dr. Berger will take an impression of your mouth. Using this impression, a series of aligners will be crafted, each designed to move your teeth a little closer to their ideal position. The aligners are switched out every two weeks or so.

Aside from their obvious aesthetic appeal, ClearCorrect™ invisible braces offer many important oral health and practical benefits. Unlike traditional braces, ClearCorrect™ aligners can be removed for brushing and flossing, meaning that you will not have to adjust your normal oral hygiene regiment during treatment. Furthermore, you will be able to remove the aligners during meals; from apples to popcorn, you can continue to eat foods that would be off-limits to wearers of metal orthodontic appliances.

Dental Bonding

Dental bonding is an excellent alternative to porcelain veneers for those who are looking for an immediate, and somewhat less expensive, way to conceal minor aesthetic flaws in their teeth. The results, while not quite as natural looking as those possible with veneers, are generally stunning. In addition, there is simply no quicker or easier way to make over a smile.

In a single office visit, Dr. Berger applies the composite-resin bonding material to the affected teeth, shapes it to match the surrounding natural teeth, cures it with a special light, and then refines and polishes it to perfection. You will leave our office with a luminous, youthful smile that will be certain to impress.

Tooth-Colored Inlays and Onlays

Custom-crafted inlays and onlays are the modern alternative to traditional dental fillings. Made from natural-looking porcelain, inlays are placed within the protruding cusps of a decayed tooth while onlays cover the entire upper surface area of a tooth to treat more extensive decay. These restorations strengthen and protect your damaged teeth while simultaneously restoring their appearance.

Dental Implant Restorations

logo_MISAt the practice of Nicole M. Berger, D.D.S., we take pride in being a full-service dental office. While other practices have to refer patients out to specialists, we are generally able to treat dental problems in-house. This is particularly convenient to patients in need of dental implants, as Dr. Cohen can perform the oral surgery necessary to placing the implant posts into the jaw rather than sending these patients to an outside surgeon.

Simply stated, dental implants are the most stable, durable, and realistic replacement for missing teeth available. The implants are titanium posts that are surgically embedded into the jaw bone, where they act as artificial tooth roots. Because titanium is not recognized as a foreign substance by the human body, the jaw bone heals around the implants, essentially incorporating them into the natural anatomy. During this healing period, temporary restorations are placed in the mouth.

Once the implants have healed into place, Dr. Berger attaches natural-looking, fully customized porcelain restorations to the posts. Dental implants can be used to support a single crown, a bridge, or even a full set of dentures, depending on how many teeth are missing or damaged beyond salvation. Because porcelain mimics the light-reflecting properties of natural tooth enamel, it is already the most realistic material used in dental restorations; however, these restorations are attached below the gum line when supported by implants, furthering their natural appearance. With dental implants, you will have a full set of teeth that look, feel, and function nearly identically to your original teeth.
